Ringgold Feed & Seed on Great American Country

UPDATE

The episode that was filmed at Ringgold Feed & Seed Antiques along with other spots in Ringgold and North Georgia is going to be aired on Sunday, November 15th at 6:00pm.  This is on Great American Country (or GAC).   If you have Charter Cable, then the channel is 144 for Standard Def or 869 for High Def.  For Comcast, it is channel 147 (Standard Def only).  If you are on Satellite, please check your local channel lineup.

The show “Endless Yard Sale” will be filming at Ringgold Feed & Seed Antiques on June 6th during the Dixie Hwy 90-mile yard sale.  The premise of the show will be a competition between 3 teams to see who gets the best value for $1000.  Great American Country broadcasted similar episodes last year during the Hwy 127 Longest Yard Sale.

We are honored to be part of the Great American Country resume of great shows such as Junk Gypsies, Flippin’ RVs, Salvage Dawgs and much more.

We are needing dealers to setup in the parking lot and be a part of this experience.  The show is looking for the items on THIS LIST.  If you have some of these items, we would like to talk to you.

Email us at info@ringgoldfeedandseed.com with a couple of pictures of what you have and we will be in touch.

Happy Birthday!

One year ago today, we opened our doors for the first time. It was  three months of hard, dirty work getting the store ready for customers. We knew we had a great place and once the vendors decorated their booths, we knew we had something awesome. We still wondered will the customers come?   Would they love the store too?
It has been a wonderful first year…far exceeding our expectations. Thank you to our vendors that work so hard picking, cleaning, making, pricing, and presenting the greatest items. Thank you to all the customers that have graced our doors and spent their hard earned money with us. We appreciate you all so much. Thank you Ringgold for being the greatest, friendliest city to own a business. Thank you for the other stores in town that send their customer’s our way. Thank you for allowing us to live our dream of owning an antique store. We are feeling so blessed and look forward to 2015 to see what new adventures it brings.
Stay tuned, we will be announcing a celebration weekend for later this month. We have the greatest vendors and customers. You make each day so fun to be in the store.

Made From Junk

This porch bed is a great example of how to repurpose items and make something unique.  We needed a new porch swing, but the ones in the store are all the same.  So, we made one ourselves.

We started with just a platform we made out of some scrap wood we had in the shop.  We used an old door as the backrest and croquet mallets to form the arms.  We also used arms we were able to remove from a broken rocking chair.  We attached some molding we found in a barn to the front and topped it off with a cushion we found at a yard sale and finally, some pillows we made.

Repurpose

We enjoy taking items and making new uses for them.  The coffee table in the center started out as an old chicken coop.  Simply add some legs and a cool paint job, now it is a conversation piece.  Inside the coop, you can display your collection of “stuff” and still have a functioning table.  The paint and the coops are all available at Ringgold Feed & Seed Antiques.

The After-Pick

The Ringgold Feed & Seed Antiques store in Ringgold has many of the best pickers in Chattanooga.  We scour the Chattanooga area for antiques, vintage items, unusual items and even some rusty items.  Each dealer has their own unique eye that gives the shop a great eclectic mix.

After one of our pickin’ weekends, we just lay everything out, clean the items that are just too crusty, fix items that need a little TLC, price them, then haul them into the store.  It is a labor of love.  We just can’t help ourselves when we come across some great stuff that we know our customers will love.  Ringgold Feed & Seed Antiques, where history passes through our doors every day.

Vintage Design

To create that unique space, consider vintage items in your design.  This space has been decorated in items we found at junk shops.  The rustic sign offers a great backdrop behind the bed.  This sign is just as we found it and it really pops off the wood-slat wall.

We painted the wall white except for a black-striped accent wall.  Adding the floating shelves, purchased from Ikea, holds some additional items from the collection.  We tried to include some colorful items that stands out against the white wall.  The red radio, the globes and the Exit sign really pops.
